Details On Darien's Veterans Day Ceremony
The Darien Monuments and Ceremonies Commission will hold the annual ceremony at town hall on Nov. 11.
DARIEN, CT — The Monuments and Ceremonies Commission will hold the annual Darien Veterans Day ceremony on Nov. 11.
The ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m., at Veterans Circle located immediately in front of Darien Town Hall at 2 Renshaw Road, the town said in a Facebook post. The event is expected to last about 20 minutes.
Members of VFW Post 6933 will raise the flag and then lower it to half-staff. There will also be a brief reading on the history of Armistice/Veterans Day, along with a reading of Canadian Lt. Col. Jon McCrae's poem "In Flanders Field."

Memorial flowers and wreaths will be placed on veteran markers.
Paring will be available in the lower lot in front of Darien Town hall, or in the lot to the rear of the building, the town said.
