Darien High School Swim and Dive Team Celebrates an Undefeated Season

The Blue Wave honored 14 seniors during its final dual meet

The Blue Wave Swim and Dive Team had many reasons to celebrate during its final dual meet. DHS defeated Fairfield Warde (95-75) capping its undefeated season (9-0). During the meet, the team honored its 14 senior swimmers and divers. The season was especially memorable for the graduating class since the team has not gone undefeated since the athletes’ freshman year.

The hardest fought victory proved to be the match-up with Ridgefield on the road. The Blue Wave and Tigers squared off in a meet that came down to the wire (101-85). DHS swept the diving competition and captured 1st place finishes in the 200 medley relay, 100 fly and the 100 back events.

DHS and Ridgefield will square off again in the post-season beginning with the FCIAC competitions: Swimming Trials (Nov. 2, 4:30pm, Greenwich); Diving Finals (Nov. 4, 5:30pm, New Canaan YMCA) and Swimming Finals (Nov. 5, 7:30pm, Greenwich).
