Distraction Burglars Target Darien Resident
The burglars were caught on video surveillance.

DARIEN, CT—A woman fell victim to a distraction-type burglary Sept. 28 on Herman Avenue, according to police.
A woman who doesn't speak English was working in her front yard around 11 a.m. when a man approached and started asking questions. There was a language barrier and the man started to walk to the back yard. She then walked to a neighbor's house for help.
By the time she returned the subject was gone.

The woman informed her adult daughter about the strange incident. The daughter checked security video from the home and saw that two others entered through the rear of the house and walked down a hallway.
About $500 worth of Hong Kong currency was taken from an upstairs bedroom closet. Electronics and jewelry were left alone.
