'Strings & Asymmetry' takes place on Friday, October 20 at 7:30pm in the DAC Weatherstone Studio. Tickets are available at darienarts.org.

The Darien Arts Center is hosting Strings & Asymmetry, an all-new varied performance from East Coast Contemporary Ballet on Friday, October 20 at 7:30pm in the DAC Weatherstone Studio.

For the opening of their 5th Anniversary Season, East Coast Contemporary Ballet presents a program whose diverse style and dynamics mirrors the broad spectrum of string music selected. Live musicians of Alturas Duo and Callisto Quartet will be featured in a brand-new work, Desde Adentro – From Within, by Claire Mazza set to music by composer Javier Farias. This is a result of a creative collaboration with MoCA Westport. Alejandro Ulloa will be premiering another new piece set to Ezio Basso’s music and a magnetic duet by Frances Ortiz will be performed. Don’t miss this dynamic evening that marries contemporary dance and string music in expert and unexpected ways.
Founded in 2019 by Claire Mazza, DAC Dance Director, and Alejandro Ulloa, East Coast Contemporary Ballet (ECCB) is a Connecticut-based dance company that performs seasonally in Connecticut and New York. Producing entirely original works, the company is committed to reaching diverse audiences and producing art that audiences can relate to and be inspired by.
