A Little Jazz Mass at Saint Luke's Parish

This Sunday at 10 am the Saint Luke's Choirs will sing Bob Chilcott's A Little Jazz Mass in the service of Holy Eucharist. Intended to be sung as part of liturgy, the composition includes Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus Benedictus and Agnus Dei. The public is invited.

Chilcott, who was a chorister in the famous choir of Kings College Cambridge and later sang with the Kings' Singers, has written a wide range of music. This Jazz Mass is authentic choral Jazz, accompanied by a traditional jazz trio of piano, percussion and bass. The Donald Vega Trio of New York will accompany the choirs in singing the work.

Following worship, Saint Luke's will hold its annual parish picnic on the grounds of the newly opened Youth & Community Center on the parish campus.
