
DARIEN ARTIST TO SHOW AT DARIEN DOUGHNUT STARTING MARCH 10
Opening Reception is Saturday, March 10th from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Darien artist, Brenda Jacobsen, will show a series of paintings beginning March 10 at Darien Doughnut located at 370 Heights Road. Jacobsen will contribute 25% of her sales to the Open Doors Shelter in Norwalk.

Brenda Jacobsen, a Darien resident, earned a Music Education degree from Acadia University in Nova Scotia. In the years following graduation, Jacobsen relocated to New York City and then Connecticut. While teaching music in Greenwich she shifted her focus from music to visual art. Jacobsen began to enhance her art skills by studying drawing and painting for three years at Silvermine School of Art.
In 2004, Jacobsen received a Master's of Arts in teaching at Sacred Heart University. In 2008, Jacobsen began studying oil painting at the Rowayton Arts Society. In the summer of 2010, Jacobsen took a landscape class with Dean Fisher at the Silvermine School of Art.
Brenda’s day job is the scheduling coordinator at Goldman Orthodontics in Stamford. She is a mother of three daughters and is married to David. They moved to Darien 16 years ago and are members of Noroton Presbyterian Church.
