Darien Nature Center & Southern Cross Education Foundation

The Darien Nature Center is partnering with Southern Cross Education Foundation, a privately funded pre-school and primary school support program for disadvantaged children in Botswana, to host a six-week exhibition of the photography and arts of Botswana, Africa.  The exhibit, which is free to the public, will kick off with an Opening Reception of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and an African art and clothing sale on Saturday, September 17th from 6 to 9 p.m. (tickets $75 per person at the door).  The exhibition will run through October 29, 2011; Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. at The Darien Nature Center.  By special permission of documentarians, Dereck and Beverly Joubert, a private showing of the National Geographic film The Last Lions (PG) will be Sunday, October 9, at 2 p.m. ($15 at the door.)  For more information, contact Casey Korinchock at 646-282-1919 or email southerncrossschool@gmail.com.
