March 14th will be a fabulous evening of insights into the New York Philharmonic and Metropolitan Opera. Zarin Mehta, President and Executive Director of the New York Philharmonic, and Peter Gelb, General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera, will discuss their extensive careers in the classical music business. Zarin Mehta spent 12 years at the Philharmonic and was instrumental in bringing the New York Philharmonic to North Korea. Peter Gelb has focused on revitalizing opera and connecting it to a wider audience, launching such initiatives as “The Met: Live In HD” and “Metropolitan Opera Radio” on Sirius Satellite Radio. Music critic Jay Nordlinger will moderate. DCA members $15, public $25; students are invited at no charge.
