Fairbanks Photo to Close Doors After 63 Years

Owner George McKnight made the announcement Wednesday on the company's Facebook page.

Darien's will close its doors at the end of month after 63 years of operation, according to statement from owner George McKnight.

"It is with heavy heart that the McKnight family and Fairbanks Photo announce that as of today, June 1, we will be closing our doors on June 30" McKnight said Wednesday in a post on the company's Facebook page.

"In this uncertain economic climate and break-neck paced technological time one needs to assess if they can maintain the course or pursue the 'next chapter,'" McKnight wrote. "Unfortunately, this assessment has shown that it is time to say farewell to what is known and chart the new course."
