Fire Marshals Investigate Darien Garage Fire

DARIEN, CT — A garage fire last week at an unoccupied Hamilton Lane home is under investigation by Darien fire marshals, according to Darien police officials.

Emergency personnel were called to the home at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 19, during a spate of inclement weather, on a report of a structure fire.

"Upon arrival, officers observed the garage portion of the home to be fully engulfed in flames," wrote police officials in a statement. "At the time of the fire, the family was away and therefore there was no one in the house."

Fire personnel extinguished the blaze without incident, clearing the way for the investigation.
