Flash Flooding Concerns As Heavy Rain Lashes Connecticut
BREAKING: Heavy rain is pounding the region Saturday morning and the National Weather Service is warning of possible flash flooding.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for all of Connecticut on Saturday as heavy rains are pounding the state and the National Weather Service says there is a concern over localized flash flooding.
The heavy rains, which may be accompanied by some thunderstorms, are expected until early afternoon and then later in the day the sun should make an appearance and as of right now no more rain is in the forecast through next Friday.
For southern Connecticut the National Weather Service says, “Localized flash flooding is possible this morning with showers and possible thunderstorms. Some storms could produce gusty winds.

For northern Connecticut, the National Weather Service says, “For today, there is the potential for flooding and severe weather threats, mainly across Southeast New England. Moderate to heavy rain forecast across Southeast New England this morning with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches possible yields the potential for urban and poor drainage flood issues. Greater concern for coastal communities as rainfall will be coincident with high tide, yet a lower high tide as compared to recent astronomical high tides.“
"In addition, embedded thunderstorms within the moderate to heavy rain are forecast. These storms may become strong to severe with the main threats being gusty winds and possibly a brief tornado,” the weather service states regarding Hartford and Tolland counties.

NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Ryan Hanrahan wrote that it may not be great weather here but it could be worse.
“What a wild morning in New Jersey with severe storms and tornado warnings. At least right now the severe storms are saying south of us but we are watching it!” Hanrahan wrote.
NBC Connecticut Meteorologist Darren Sweeney wrote, "Welcome to the weekend! We start of wet this morning with locally heavy downpours and even some rumbles of thunder. The good news is, by mid to late morning a swift clearing trend along with a drop in humidity takes over. This afternoon features SUNSHINE! In fact, the rest of the weekend is looking nice!"
The showers and storms should move out early in the afternoon and then it gets really warm with temps into the mid 80s. Sunday will offer plenty of sunshine and temps in the 80s.
The forecast next week looks amazing with sunshine and temps around 80 degrees all week long.
