Friday Classes Canceled At Darien Public Schools

DARIEN, CT — In light of the latest weather forecast, Darien Public Schools are closed Friday, according to a post on the district website.

According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain is expected to transition to freezing rain beginning after 9 a.m. in northern parts of Connecticut and by early to mid-afternoon in southern Connecticut. The freezing rain will change to sleet in the afternoon hours.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect for the entire state until 7 p.m. Friday. The weather service cautions that the evening commute may be hazardous due to icing concerns.
