Gourmet Picnic Bags Now Available At Palmer’s Market In Darien

DARIEN, CT — Palmer’s Market in Darien has introduced a new line of gourmet picnic bags, designed to offer a convenient and elevated option for outdoor dining throughout the summer season.

The initiative, launched by siblings Megan and Travis Palmer, emerged from a casual dinner conversation and came together in just three weeks. Megan Palmer, a classically trained chef and CEO of Palmer’s Market, partnered with her brother Travis, founder of boating lifestyle brand Chunky Walrus, to bring the concept to life.

"We wanted to create something that made summer feel effortless but still elevated," said Megan Palmer in a prepared statement. "Whether you're headed out on the boat, setting up under the stars, or hosting a last-minute picnic at the park, these bags let you savor the season with ease."

Each picnic bag includes pre-portioned gourmet meals, ice packs, palm leaf plates, and disposable cutlery.

The launch features four curated options available for pre-order with 48 hours’ notice through Palmer’s website

There four signature bags include:

• The Mediterranean Escape Bag – A bold, protein-packed picnic featuring grilled steak, shrimp, and chicken skewers, fresh salads, housemade hummus & pita, and a sweet finish—your passport to big flavor, no prep required.
• The Coastal Catch Bag – Lobster rolls, shrimp, and spicy crab dip bring the New England summer vibes. Paired with fresh sides like pesto pasta, caprese salad, and lemon bars—ideal for beach, boat, or backyard.
• The Artisan Sandwich Bag – Handcrafted sandwiches, Palmer’s chips & truffle parm dip, fruit salad, and triple chocolate brownies. Casual, satisfying, and picnic-ready—perfect for impromptu alfresco dining.
• The Sunset Grazing Bag – A shareable spread of cheeses, charcuterie, antipasto, and sweet & salty snacks—ideal for golden hour grazing, wine picnics, or sunset sails.

Located across from the Noroton Heights train station, Palmer’s Market offers pickup for local customers and delivery throughout Fairfield County seven days a week.
