Half-Naked Man Chased By Cops, Charged With Sexual Assault: Darien PD
Police said they chased a half-naked man into and around traffic on New Year's Eve in Darien.

DARIEN, CT — A Norwalk man was arrested on New Year's Eve after police say he ran through traffic half-naked and previously sexually assaulted a woman he was staying with.
The man, 33, was charged with disorderly conduct, fourth-degree sexual assault and breach of peace.
On Dec. 31 shortly after 12 p.m., Darien police received multiple 911 calls about a man walking on Noroton Avenue who was completely naked from the waist down, police said.

A Darien police officer located the man walking eastbound on Noroton Avenue near Heights Road, and he was "rambling and speaking irrationally" while talking to the officer, police said.
The man began to run from the officer towards the Interstate-95 overpass on Noroton Avenue, and he tried to climb onto the chainlink fence over the highway, police said.

The officer deployed his taser, but the man ran into and around traffic while yelling, "Shoot me," according to police.
Assisting officers caught up to the man and were able to restrain him with handcuffs. Police said he was taken to the hospital for further evaluation.
Officers then went to a Darien home where the man was staying with a woman, police said. The woman said she was sexually assaulted by the man the night before and forced him out of her home.
The man was held by Darien police on a $100,000 bond.
