John Martin, whose face is familiar to anyone who frequented Uncle's Brain Food Deli stand in Darien Library over the past two years, was there for his last day on Friday.
Martin has been a friendly face at the library ever since Uncle's got the concession there 2 1/2 years ago. While he's worked there as an employee of Uncle's, he owns Frosty Bear Ice Cream Shoppe at 161 Cross Hwy. in Westport.
The Westport store is a seasonal place that's only open from May to September, Martin said. Sometime in mid- to late June, he's opening a second Frosty Bear -- this one in Monroe, and it will be year-round.
The new store will be located at 695 Main St. in Monroe.
Replacing Martin at the library is Kareen White (shown in the picture standing next to Martin).
