Several meetings are scheduled over the next few weeks.
DARIEN, CT — Here are the key dates that are upcoming in the 2025-2026 budget process.
March 4, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall Room 206
- The Board of Selectmen and Board of Education budget recommendations will be presented to the Board of Finance on March 4.
March 11, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall Room 206

- The Board of Finance will hold a public hearing on the budget.
April 8, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall Room 206
- The Board of Finance will vote on the spending plans.
May 12, 7:30 p.m., Town Hall Auditorium

The Representative Town Meeting will consider the budgets and vote on them. The RTM can make cuts, but cannot add to the budgets.
The Darien Board of Education recently approved a $125.7 million budget, a 4.9 percent increase over the current spending plan.
The Board of Selectmen proposed budget is $57.9 million, an 8.2 percent over the 2024-2025 budget.
