Laptops, Bicycle Stolen From Cars, Garage In Darien: Police
Laptops, a bicycle and cash were among items recently reported stolen in Darien, according to police.

DARIEN, CT — Laptops, a bicycle and cash were among items recently reported stolen from a garage and cars parked in Darien on Nov. 20, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Dan Skoumbros said an Old Parish Road resident reported their 2007 Kia had been entered overnight and his prescription sunglasses were missing.
Three other vehicles in the driveway were also entered, however nothing was taken. All four vehicles had been left unlocked unlocked, Skoumbros said.

A Noroton Avenue resident later reported their unlocked 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee had been entered overnight and two laptops were stolen, Skoumbros said.
Police also received a report of a stolen bicycle from a Holly Lane resident. According to Skoumbros, the resident said her husband went outside around 7:30 a.m. and found their garage door open.

The resident told officers she closed the garage door the night before. Inside the garage, they found a Huffy bicycle where their son's bike should have been, Skoumbros said.
Ring camera footage later showed a masked man walking in the family's driveway around 3:30 a.m. and checking vehicles parked there. Skoumbros said the suspect appeared to use a garage opener in one of the vehicles to enter the garage and leave with the son's bike, as well as a red backpack belonging to the family.
The suspect then appeared to stop at the end of the driveway and walk the Huffy bike back into the garage, Skoumbros said. Cash was also reported missing from an unlocked vehicle parked outside the house.
A Scout Trail resident later told officers her Ring camera showed a man with a red backpack enter her unlocked vehicle and leave on a bike, however nothing was reported missing from her vehicle, Skoumbros said.
