Accomplishments: Remole recently completed his senior year on the wrestling team as one of only four wrestlers in Darien history to have won over 100 matches. His record — compiled in the 130, 135 and 140 pound weight classes — over his four years is 115-23. "I remember the losses more than the wins," said Remole.
"His focus and determination to be the best at whatever he does is key to his success," said Coach Joe Vano.

Remole completed his wrestling career as state and FCIAC champion at 140 pounds and finished fourth in the New England Open Championships. In addition to being named All-State, he was also Academic All -State. Remole hasn't confined his athletic career to the mats, either: he was a member of the lacrosse team as a sophomore and junior, played rugby for four years, and will be competing in tennis this spring.
He ran in the Marine Marathon last October, in Washington, D.C. — his first marathon — and finished in 3 hours, 57 minutes.
His Key to Excellence: In his freshman and sophomore years, Remole went on mission trips for his church to the Bahamas and Mississippi.
He is one of many Wave wrestlers in the Darien Youth Wrestling program who teach the sport to kids. In addition, he volunteers in a program that collects and sends DVDs to soldiers overseas.
Lars is one of four children of Jennifer and Eric Remole along with Anya, a graduate of Johns Hopkins; Nils, who is attending George Washington University; and Hals, a junior at DHS.
Lars has yet to select a college, but he said he's leaning towards majoring in business management.
