Whole Foods Charity Deal Today

Today only: Whole Foods is giving 5 percent of proceeds to Stone Barns Center, a nonprofit in Tarrytown, NY, so if you can do it without getting too hot, today might be a better day to shop than tomorrow (morning is cooler).

in Tarrytown, NY is getting a big boost from area Whole Foods stores on Wednesday when 5 percent of all proceeds will go toward the center and their mission "to improve the way America eats and farms."

"It's a huge opportunity for us to raise money towards our mission of improving the way America eats and farms,” said Stone Barns Communication Manager Mara Flanagan.

Select stores to shop in on Wednesday, June 20, include: NY: White Plains; NJ: Paramus, Ridgewood, Edgewater, West Orange; CT: Darien and Greenwich.

To start, take those half empty reusable containers of this and that, and make a “leftover frittata.”

Ingredients

Anything you’ve got that you like–all in all, about 3 cups of leftovers!
For example:
Those wilted greens
That near-empty jar of olives or capers
That half-pint of Chinese stir-fry
That piece of cooked bacon leftover from breakfast
The last bit of roasted chicken

2 Tbsp vegetable oil
8 large eggs
¾ cup of milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
salt & pepper
