Latest Darien Restaurant Inspections Include One Poor Ranking

The latest batch of health inspection reports.

DARIEN, CT—The Darien Social on Center Street failed its latest health inspection report.

The restaurant scored an 85 at its Aug. 17 inspection, according to a report.

Subway at the I-95 south rest stop, Cheeseboy at the I-95 north rest stop and Rory's on the Post Road scored "good" scores, according to the Darienite.

An inspector violations including mold growth in an ice machine, ice uncovered in bar area and fruit flies in the bar area.

Wings were kept at 51 degrees Fahrenheit and French fries at 52 degrees. The head chef wasn't wearing a hair restraint either, according to the inspection report.

Darien Social received a near-perfect score of 98 at its January inspection and in past inspections got scores of 91 and 82, according to Health Department records.
