Learn to Cook Healthy & Light -- 2nd Chance!

Join for tips on cooking healthy & light. But it's not "diet" food; it's all about flavor. Tuesday, Feb 24th, 9:30-11:30am at the DCA

A recent snow storm offers students a second chance to attend a healthy cooking class with Certified Home Chef Paula Nusslein. The Darien Community Association (DCA) will host “Cooking Healthy & Light: Lunch, Dinner & Entertaining” on Tuesday, February 24th from 9:30am.

The class is about cooking light, but it’s not about dieting; it’s all about flavor. Students will learn how to start with fresh, whole ingredients and replace additives like salt or fat with flavor. The results are great-tasting, healthy meals that just happen to fit common dietary restrictions.

Paula will demonstrate a number of techniques, to include baking in parchment to retain nutritional values (yet still offer a great presentation). Students will also learn to make herbed potatoes (that taste like they’re buttered), fruit crisp, and more. Handouts include all tips and recipes; tastings will offer proof of how great cooking light can be!
