Letter To The Editor: Fun At Darien Sand Castle Building Contest
About 30 teams participated in the Darien Youth Commission's Annual Sand Castle Building Contest last month.

To the Editor:
The weather may have chilly (more sweaters than bathing suits!) but that didn’t stop close to 30 teams
from participating in the Darien Youth Commission’s Annual Sand Castle Building Contest. Dolphins,
shipwrecks, traditional castles and more festooned the waterfront at Weed Beach on Wednesday, June
27.
Hosted by the Darien Youth Commission and the Darien Parks & Rec Department, our special thanks go to our partners Paula Csengo, Denise and Joann from Patriot National Bank. Not only were they expert
judges, but they provided the prizes for the winning three teams. Paula (Vice President/Branch
Manager of the Darien Branch) said: “While the decision-making is always difficult, we love being a part
of this fun-family event!”
