Letter to the Editor: Parks and Rec Thanks Weed Beach Responses

Dear Editor,

I want to thank the Darien community for being very proactive by answering our recent Weed Beach Expansion survey that was introduced to the public this past fall. We had an outstanding response, with 2,105 completed surveys. The data collected has helped to pinpoint what residents of this community are looking for with the opportunity to expand Weed Beach.

Many of the questions in the survey also provided areas for residents to comment and your voice was heard! With over 1,200 comments, we can see the passion in the community for this project and our parks and will use that feedback in our planning process now and in the future.

I want everyone to know that you have a dedicated group of volunteers that are working hard to make the right decisions on how to expand Weed Beach. Please mark your calendars for January 26th at 6:30 p.m. and come out to see the preliminary drawings from the information gathered over the last four months. There will also be a short presentation by Weston & Sampson to go over the results of the survey and an opportunity for the public to ask questions as well.
