Lifeguard Coverage To Change At Darien Beaches: Officials
At Pear Tree Point and Weed Beaches.
DARIEN, CT — From now through the remainder of the beach season (which ends on Sept. 3), there will be limited lifeguard coverage at Pear Tree Point and Weed Beaches in Darien, according to the town's Parks and Recreation Department.
The limited coverage is due to a lack of available and qualified lifeguards, as many head back to school and/or begin fall sports training.
"Signs will be placed at both beaches notifying the public as to dates and hours of lifeguard coverage," officials stated. "Guarded swim areas will be determined by lifeguards on a daily basis.
