Mail Reportedly Stolen From Darien Mailboxes, Cops Say
The thefts were reported to Darien police on on April 14 and 15.
DARIEN, CT — An undisclosed amount of mail was reported stolen out of residential mailboxes on Birch and Half Mile roads in Darien on April 14 and 15, according to police.
In the first instance on the 14th on Birch Road, the homeowner told police he went to retrieve his mail in the morning, but "he found none and the [mailbox] door was open."
"The complainant stated he saw the USPS driver stop at his box the day prior and place mail into it," said Darien police. "Further, he had received notification from a shipper that a package had been delivered and placed in the mailbox."

In the second case on the 15th on Half Mile Road, the complainant also found his mailbox was empty, contacted the Postal Service and "confirmed that mail had been delivered to his mailbox."
