DARIEN, CT — Police said they arrested a 22-year-old man in the early morning hours of Sept. 17 in a bank parking lot after they discovered him with a stolen license and forged documents.

Adrian Melian, of Elmhurst, N.Y., was charged with second-degree forgery, a felony, and sixth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor.

On Sept. 17 at 2:39 a.m., a Darien police officer noticed a car parked in the TD Bank parking lot on the Post Road.

Melian told the officer he left his identification at home, and another officer noticed he grabbed an ID that was on the passenger seat, police said in a news release.

The officers found Melian in possession of a license that didn't belong to him, police said, noting that it later came back as stolen.

As Melian was emptying his pockets, officers also saw a license and several credit cards with different names on them.

"Further investigation revealed that some documents he had in his possession were forged," police said.

Melian was held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 29.
