Man Accused Of Showing Pornographic Video In Starbucks Parking Lot: Darien PD

The man was arrested at Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 22, police said.

DARIEN, CT — A 25-year-old man was arrested late last month after police said he played a pornographic video on his cell phone near a woman in a Starbucks parking lot in November 2022.

The man, who lives in Derby, CT, was arrested at Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 22 on a warrant that charges him with breach of peace, a misdemeanor.

On Nov. 14, 2022, a woman reported to police that she was sitting in her car in the Starbucks parking lot on the Post Road at around 6:15 a.m., when she saw a man standing by her window holding up a cell phone which was playing a pornographic video, police said.

The man left before officers arrived, police said. An employee at Starbucks said the same man came into the store earlier and gave an employee his cell phone number.

Police said they used phone records and surveillance footage to identify the man. On Jan. 17, he was arrested by the Ansonia Police Department on unrelated charges and was being held in custody in Bridgeport. An arrest warrant for the Darien incident was granted.

The man was given a court-set bond of $30,000.
