The victim had listed the motorcycle for sale on Facebook Marketplace the day before the theft, and police believe that allowed Perez to locate the victim’s address through multiple Google searches.

Surveillance footage showed Perez and an accomplice entering the property at approximately 2:22 a.m., cutting cable wires to disable security cameras, and forcing entry into the garage, police said.

Search warrants served on Google found that Perez conducted several searches for the victim’s address, police said.

Investigators later linked Perez to a similar motorcycle theft in New Jersey in October 2023, according to police.

Perez was able to post a court-set bond of $100,000. He's scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on Dec. 27.
