Man Charged With Assault, Strangulation In Attack On Resident: Darien Police
Police said a man was attacked at a home in Darien on Nov. 30.

DARIEN, CT — A 21-year-old man was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree strangulation/suffocation and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident that occurred last week at a local residence, according to police.
On Nov. 30 at approximately 1:03 p.m., officers responded to a "distress call reporting an assault in progress" at a home on Scofield Farms Road, police said, noting that the suspect, identified as Maodo Malick Ndiaye, of Far Rockaway in Queens, N.Y., fled the scene on a bicycle toward Allwood Road.
Police found a man "actively bleeding" at the scene.

"The victim described how Ndiaye, a known acquaintance through a sponsorship program, unexpectedly attacked him, resulting in the victim losing consciousness," police said. The man was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment.
Officers canvassed the area and eventually took Ndiaye into custody on Allwood Road, police said.

Ndiaye was unable to post a $150,000 bond, police noted, and he appeared in court on Dec. 2. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2025, the CT Judicial Branch website shows.
