Man Charged with DUI in Darien

He was driving a vehicle with an interlock ignition device, which is mandated after a DUI.

DARIEN, CT — A Stamford man was charged with DUI after he was found driving intoxicated in a vehicle that had an ignition interlock device from a previous DUI arrest, according to police.

Police pulled over Joel Fernandes, 36, after it crossed the double yellow line multiple times, according to the Darienite. Fernandes displayed signs of intoxicated and was arrested, police said.

He gave a urine test at headquarters.
