Man Found With Drugs In Parking Lot Of Darien Elementary School: Police
Darien police said they responded to the school in the early morning hours of Jan. 2 on a report of a suspicious parked vehicle.

DARIEN, CT — A 27-year-old man was arrested last week after Darien police say he was found asleep with drugs in his car at Hindley Elementary School.
The man, who is a Danbury resident, was charged with use of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance, first offense, according to an arrest report. Both charges are misdemeanors.
On Jan. 2 at approximately 2:28 a.m., Darien police officers checked on a suspicious vehicle parked at Hindley Elementary School on Nearwater Lane.

Officers found the arrestee asleep in his car, and they noticed "glassine bags with white powder residue, consistent with narcotics packaging in the driver’s door storage area," police said in an arrest report.
"Upon further investigation, officers found additional evidence, including a cell phone with cocaine residue, a straw, and credit cards with white powder residue," police added. "A field test confirmed the substance as cocaine."

After being processed for the charges, the arrestee was taken to Stamford Superior Court after he was unable to post bond, police said.
