Man Injured In Fall From Darien Train Platform: Police

The incident occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 12.

DARIEN, CT — An investigation is underway in Darien about the circumstances surrounding a man falling from the Darien Train Station platform at about 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 12, according to authorities.

The man, a 22-year-old from Monroe, suffered undisclosed injuries in the fall and was treated at Stamford Hospital where he remains as of Tuesday afternoon. Darien police did not release his identity.

Officers were called to the scene on the Post Road near the station exit on the northbound side on a report of an unresponsive man. He was initially treated at the scene by police and members of the Post 53 Emergency Medical Service before he was taken to the hospital.

"For reasons still under investigation, it appears that the male fell from the train platform structure, landing on the exit drive in the area where the drive meets the Post Road," wrote Darien police in a statement. "At this time, it is believed that the male was alone, and we have no reason to believe this was anything other than an unfortunate accident."
