Man Suffers Burns In Boat Explosion In Darien: Police
The incident occurred Saturday evening.

DARIEN, CT — A boater suffered burns and was hospitalized Saturday evening following an explosion on his vessel in the waters off Darien, according to police.
The man, whose identity was not released, suffered burns to his torso, face and arms when his shirt caught fire during the explosion on the 19-foot vessel. He jumped into the water to extinguish himself.
The incident occurred at about 7:25 p.m., and the victim was brought onboard the Darien Marine Police's Darien-127 boat and taken to shore where a Post 53 ambulance took him to the hospital. His current condition was not disclosed.

Additionally, the cause of the explosion was not disclosed, but the "Norwalk Fire Marine Division took possession of the disabled vessel," according to Darien police.
