Man Threatened Roommate With Gun: Darien Police
A 73-year-old Darien man was arrested on July 5 and charged with first-degree threatening and disorderly conduct, police said.

DARIEN, CT — A 73-year-old Darien man was arrested last week after police said he threatened his roommate with a gun.
Richard DeForest was arrested and charged with first-degree threatening and disorderly conduct.
At approximately 11:26 a.m. on July 5, police investigated a report of a threatening incident at a home on Fitch Avenue.

According to police, in the overnight hours, DeForest's roommate said DeForest was "yelling at him in regards to an argument they had the previous night."
The roommate told police that as he was walking past DeForest's bedroom, DeForest had a revolver in his hand and pointed it at him, police said in a news release.

DeForest then followed the roommate into the kitchen and again pointed the revolver at him, police said, noting that the roommate left the home.
Once outside, the roommate told police DeForest was tapping on the glass window with the revolver, police said.
After he was arrested and charged, DeForest was released after posting 10 percent of a $1,000 bond, police said. He's scheduled to appear in court July 19.
