Marijuana, Crack & Heroin Arrest Made In Darien: State Police
"Troopers approached the vehicle and began speaking with the occupants who couldn't provide answers to simple questions," wrote State cops.

DARIEN, CT — Several grams of crack cocaine and heroin, and nearly three pounds of marijuana, were seized by State police on Dec. 11 during a narcotics arrest in the northbound rest area in Darien, according to authorities.
The incident began at about 11:40 a.m. when troopers from State Police Troop G approached a green Mazda 626 with Maine plates in the rest stop parking lot. The vehicle was "parked crookedly" in the space, and the two men inside were "behaving very nervously which caught the attention of troopers," wrote state police on the department's Facebook page.

Noting "several physical indicators of drug use" by the occupants, troopers got consent to search the driver, 36-year-old Matthew Mason, and found brass knuckles which are illegal to carry, as well as marijuana and crack cocaine.
A subsequent search of the vehicle produced 2.6 pounds of marijuana, 19.3 grams of crack cocaine and 13.7 grams of heroin. Additionally, troopers found a cache of drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Mason was charged with:
- Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell
- Possession with Intent
- Improper Parking
