Marijuana Found On Darien Teen At Woodland Park: Cops
The juvenile was driving his parents SUV at the time.

DARIEN, CT — A Darien teen was found with marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Woodland Park on Sept. 20 and now faces a Darien Youth Division investigation, according to police.
The identity of the juvenile was not disclosed because he is under the age of 18, and police did not disclose the possible charges he faces from the 10:30 p.m. incident.
"An Officer on patrol observed a black SUV parked in the entrance to Woodland Park," wrote Darien police in a statement describing the case. "Given the time of day, and the fact that the parks close as dusk, the officer pulled in to advise the operator of the park’s closing. As the officer pulled in, he observed a lone male exit the front driver’s side door and run into the woods.

"The officer checked the vehicle for additional occupants, but found none. From outside the vehicle, the officer observed a silver canister, an 'herbal grinder,' and a pack of rolling papers in the passenger compartment. Officers were able to contact the registered owner of the vehicle, who informed them that their teenaged son had the car. The parent called the son via cell phone, and the juvenile returned to the scene to speak with officers."
During a search of the vehicle, officers also found the following items in addition to the ones mentioned above:

- Marijuana in the grinder-device
- Marijuana in the silver canister
- A "one hitter" smoking pipe
- Two electronic cigarette devices
The teen was released to the custody of his parents, according to police.
