Marijuana, Paraphernalia Found On Darien Residents In Separate New Canaan Cases: PD

The incidents occurred in different parking lots on late Wednesday and early Thursday.

NEW CANAAN, CT — Local police issued infractions separately to a pair of Darien residents who were caught with marijuana or drug paraphernalia while they were hanging out in New Canaan parking lots.

In the first case, Curtis Marlow, 22, of Hollow Tree Ridge Road, was spotted at Waveny Park at about 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday, which is after park hours.

"Upon speaking with Marlow, the officer detected the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle," wrote New Canaan police in a statement. "A subsequent investigation resulted in the discovery of marijuana and a pipe to smoke marijuana."

Marlow was issued infractions for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the second case, William Gorey, 19, of Country Club Road, was spotted parked at C&H Automotive on Main Street at about 12:35 a.m. on Thursday.

According to police the headlights of his vehicle were on, and Gorey was found hiding inside. Again, an officer smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle.

"A subsequent investigation resulted in the discovery of a glass pipe used to smoke marijuana and a metal grinder with marijuana residue in both items," wrote police.

Gorey was issued an infraction for possession of drug paraphernalia.
