Massachusetts Man Arrested On ID Theft Charges In Darien: PD
"Credit cards taken in the burglary were subsequently used at the I-95 southbound rest area in Darien," according to Darien police.

DARIEN, CT — A 34-year-old Roxbury, MA man was arrested on a warrant charging him with a host of offenses after Darien police identified him as a suspect in an illegal use of credit cards case, according to authorities.
Christopher Hunt was extradited from the Suffolk County House of Correction in Boston to Darien on Oct. 15. Darien police charged him with the following:
- Identity Theft, 3rd Degree
- Conspiracy to Identity Theft, 3rd Degree
- Illegal Use of Credit Card
- Conspiracy to Illegal Use of Credit Card
- Larceny, 6th Degree
- Conspiracy to Larceny, 6th Degree
According to Darien police, the case began in October 2017 when officers investigated a motor vehicle break in on Hollow Tree Ridge Road.

"Credit cards taken in the burglary were subsequently used at the I-95 southbound rest area in Darien," wrote police in statement. "Surveillance footage of the fraudulent transactions was obtained through the assistance of the Connecticut State Police. Surveillance video of the vehicle used by the suspects at the time the stolen credit cards were used was also obtained. It was determined that the vehicle was stolen. On or about 11-01-2017, Boston, MA PD recovered the stolen 2006 Hyundai and arrests were made. Through the arrests of those subjects, additional information was developed that identified Christopher Hunt as the subject using the credit cards in Darien on I-95."
Earlier this year, Darien police obtained a warrant for Hunt's arrest, and discovered that he was in custody in Massachusetts for a Domestic Violence incident.

Once in Darien following his extradition, Hunt allegedly admitted to being in Darien at the time of the crime and admitted to the taking and using of the credit cards.
Hunt was held in lieu of bail of $150,000 and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court at a later date.
