Men from NJ Counterfeit Ring Used Fake Money at Darien Store: Police
Several agencies including the Secret Service are investigating.

Police are investigating after two people reportedly used counterfeit money to purchase items at Stop and Shop on July 21.
Store security found $540 in counterfeit 20 dollar bills were used to purchase various items in two separate incidents, police said.
One man entered the store around 1:12 p.m. and bought some Pampers baby wipes, a birthday card and a prepaid MasterCard.

Another man came into the store around 1:27 p.m. and purchased a Sunny D lemonade drink, Goldfish snacks, a graduation card and a prepaid MasterCard.
A Stop and Shop security specialist said that the men are likely part of a ring out of New Jersey that has used fake money to buy prepaid cards in several states, according to police.
