Middlesex Odyssey of the Mind CT State Champions
Middlesex Odyssey of the Mind team wins the CT State Tournament and will represent the state in the national competition in May

Middlesex Middle School Odyssey of the Mind teams recently competed in the CT State Odyssey of the Mind State Tournament and one MMS team emerged as the CT State Champion.
MMS 7th graders Alexander Gu, Richard Huang, Alex Hu, Ben Huffman, Jacob Grimm, Tala Garcia, and 6th grader Ethan Zhang put together a masterful project to win their “Lose Your Marbles” division by a large margin. They built a balsa wood structure that held more than 900 pounds (all the weight they had available at the tournament!).
This team will be representing Middlesex and Connecticut at the World Finals in May. This is MMS’ third year in a row sending a team to the World Finals in this category.

In the “Runaway Train” category, MMS team of 6th graders Luke Stevenson, Myron Czebiniak, Will Morgan, Marcus Feng, Ian Holly, Johannes Toikka, and 7th grader Sophie Howard constructed some very creative vehicles. They placed an impressive 6th overall for the middle school teams in their category.
