Middlesex Students Perform In Western Region Middle School Festival
The festival featured some of the best middle school musicians in Western Connecticut. It was held at Wilton High School earlier this month.
DARIEN, CT — Band, chorus, jazz ensemble and orchestra students from Middlesex Middle School were recently chosen to participate in the 2023 Connecticut Western Region Music Festival, which took place at Wilton High School from March 17-18.
The students were chosen to perform in the festival based on their competitive audition scores, and they earned the privilege of performing in honors ensembles with some of the best middle school musicians in Western Connecticut conducted by renowned conductors and educators.
The following students represented Darien at this year’s festival:

- Concert Band: Ilse Fedoronko, Joshua Golden, Chase Hasan, Brendan McCarthy, Moritz Schoenemann, November Smith, Tolga Yasanliel, Chloe Zhou.
- Chorus: Brooke Banner, Claire Butler, Lauren Erdlen, Eliza Hall, Julianna Harron, Annie Heuer, Claire Wood, Thomas Whipple.
- Jazz: Rodrigo Miranda.
- String Orchestra: Tzi-Ti Baechi, Chi-Wei Daugavietis, Alexander Gray, William Gray, Kayla Huang, Greeley Morgan, Alyssa Polyntsev, Brianna Qin, Nicholas Steinke.
The festival was sponsored by the Connecticut Music Educators Association.
