Middlesex Students Perform In Western Region Middle School Festival
The students were chosen to perform in the festival based on their competitive audition scores.

DARIEN, CT — The Darien Public Schools Music Department recently announced that band, chorus, jazz ensemble and orchestra students from Middlesex Middle School were chosen to participate in the 2024 Connecticut Western Region Music Festival.
The students were chosen to perform in the festival based on their competitive audition scores and they earned the privilege of performing in honors ensembles with some of the best middle school musicians in Western Connecticut conducted by renowned conductors and educators.
The festival was sponsored by the Connecticut Music Educators Association and took place at Wilton High School on March 15-16.

The following students represented Darien at this year’s festival:
- Concert Band: Maddie Boulier, Olivia Chen, Oliver Katz, Zachary Sadik-Khan, Chase Larsen, Moritz Schoenemann, Walter Welsh, Tolga Yasanliel
- Chorus: Elena Cappella, Patrick Coggins, Gabi Galluzzo, Kyle Horn, Stephanie Jiang, George McCallum, Emily Olsen, Elliot Ridley, Zofia Zalewski
- Jazz: Harris Moeller
- String Orchestra: Alexander Gray, William Gray, Anika Ponipireddy
