Middlesex Team Wins JV History Bee Champioships

Middlesex students Evan Tong and John Phipps win JV History Championships in PA competing against high school students

Middlesex Middle School 8th grader Evan Tong and 7th grader John Phipps won the Pennsylvania State History Bowl JV Championship on March 8th. Tong and Phipps’ 6-0 win was especially impressive since they were competing against high school students.

This, however, was not their first win against high school competitors as the duo came in fist place last December in the JV Lower Hudson National Bee & Bowl competition. Tong and Phipps are now qualified for the National History Bowl in April, and the first International History Olympiad in July.

Tong and Phipps also compete on Middlesex Middle School Quiz Bowl Team which has had extraordinary success this year.
