Motor Vehicle Burglaries, Theft Reported On Same Day In Darien: Police

Police responded to three incidents over the span of about four hours on the morning of Jan. 12.

DARIEN, CT — Two motor vehicle burglaries and a vehicle theft were reported on the same day in Darien last week, according to police.

On Jan. 12 at approximately 5:18 a.m., officers responded to Relihan Road for a reported motor vehicle burglary after a resident's security camera captured an unknown suspect entering an unlocked Porsche Macan, police said.

The suspect tried to start the vehicle, rummaged through the interior without taking any items, and fled the scene, police noted.

Later on at approximately 5:41 a.m., officers responded to a report of a stolen 2018 Range Rover from nearby Noroton Avenue.

Police said the victim left the vehicle unlocked with the keys inside. The Range Rover was later recovered the same day in West Haven by West Haven police.

Also on Jan. 12 at approximately 9:24 a.m., police responded to a home on West Avenue on another report of a motor vehicle burglary.

The complainant reported that two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway were entered during the overnight hours, and a wallet was stolen from one of them, police said.

Police did not announce any arrests related to the incidents.
