Musicians with Ties to Darien Perform for Choose Love Foundation

The event will benefit the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation.

Darien natives Doug Allen, a singer/songwriter from Nashville, TN and Trent Lewis and his band, The Well, will perform for a special event on Thursday, June 11th at 6pm at Jimmy Southside Tavern to benefit the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Foundation.

The foundation was created in memory of Jesse Lewis, who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Jesse is Trent’s nephew.

“We are thrilled that Doug, a long-time family friend and outstanding musician, offered to join us”, said Scarlett Lewis, Jesse’s mother.

While living in Darien, Trent Lewis performed in The Well, a local band and Doug Allen also performed solo locally. Trent currently lives in Norwalk and runs his company, Barefoot & Chocolate.

A talented professional singer and songwriter, Allen will debut a song that he specifically wrote in honor of Jesse Lewis called, “Choose Love.” He will perform 6-7:30 pm; Trent Lewis and his band will go onstage at 7:30.

The Jesse Lewis Choose Love Fundraiser also includes a raffle with drinks and food available as well as inspirational commentary by Scarlett Lewis, author of Nurturing, Healing Love. The event is hosted by Robert and Colleen Haines, Jerry and Diane Alena, Dan and Jen Anderson, Paul and Pam Love and Lennox and Elizabeth Stuart.

All donations are welcome at the door.
