Narcotics Arrest After I-95 Traffic Stop In Darien: State Police

The two convicted felons were also charged with illegal weapons possession.

DARIEN, CT — Two residents of Maine were arrested on illegal weapons and narcotics charges late Sunday night following a traffic stop on I-95 in Darien, according to Connecticut State Police.

The incident occurred just before midnight when troopers pulled over a 2012 Hyundai Sonata at the Darien Rest Area after spotting it commit a traffic violation.

"Upon stopping the Hyundai in the Darien Rest Area and speaking with occupants, troopers determined that there were possibly illegal narcotics contained in the vehicle," wrote Connecticut State Police in a statement. "Troopers initiated an investigation and through the course of the investigation troopers searched the Hyundai. With the aid of a narcotic detection K9, troopers located 'crack' cocaine, raw heroin and drug paraphernalia. Troopers also discovered two handguns and later determined that both the operator and passenger are convicted felons."

Arrested was Sarah Allen, 28, the driver who was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Commit Weapons in a Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
  • Illegal Transfer of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Carrying a Pistol without a Permit (2 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of Ammunition (2 counts)
  • Possession of Crack With Intent to Sell,
  • Possession of Heroin
  • Unsafe Lane Change and Following too Closely

She was held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Feb. 5.

Also arrested was William Page, 29, the passenger, who was charged with:

  • Conspiracy to Commit Weapons in a Motor Vehicle (2 counts)
  • Illegal Transfer of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Carrying a Pistol without a Permit (2 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of a Firearm (2 counts)
  • Criminal Possession of Ammunition (2 counts)
  • Possession of Crack With Intent to Sell
  • Possession of Heroin

He was also held in lieu of a $150,000 bond and was scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Monday.

Members of the Stamford and Darien police departments also assisted with the investigation.
