Noroton Heights Station Platforms Won't Be Expanded
New trains may have as many as 12 cars, but current space on the platform is less than that.

DARIEN, CT- A Connecticut Department of Transportation official said the concrete platforms at the Noroton Heights train station are being replaced, but not expanded.
Some new trains could have as many as 12 cars, but the northbound platform has 10 segments and southbound has nine, according to the Darienite.
First Selectman Jayme Stevenson said she would want longer platforms on each side.

Assistant Rail Administrator John Bernick said that the project was designed for the immediate need of replacing the old platforms that made Noroton Heights the worst station on the New Haven line.
