Norwalk Man Dies After Falling Off Ladder In Darien: Police

Steven Tarnowsky owned and operated a window cleaning service in Darien for many years.

DARIEN, CT — A 67-year-old Norwalk man died last week of injuries he suffered in fall from a ladder in Darien, according to police.

Funeral services were scheduled for Monday for Steven Tarnowsky, who died following the fall on June 26 at a location in the 1900 block of the Post Road.

Officers found Tarnowsky unresponsive after being called to the scene and they immediately began to administer medical treatment until Darien EMS arrived. He had been contracted to clean the windows at the facility and suffered life-threatening injuries in the fall. He was pronounced dead at Stamford Hospital a short while later, according to police.

"At the time of this release, the Darien Police have no reason to believe this is anything
other than an unfortunate accident," stated Darien Police Captain Jeremiah Marron Jr., adding that Tarnowsky owned and operated a window cleaning service in Darien for many years. "The incident remains under investigation by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

"The men and women of the Darien Police Department would like to extend condolences to the
Tarnowsky Family."
