Obituary: Karen M. Simmons, 67, Of Darien

Karen M. Simmons, a Darien resident, passed away on the morning of Friday, January 18, 2019 at Stamford Hospital. She was born in Stamford, CT on July 19, 1951, and was one of five children born to the late Frederick and Marie (Benedetto) Simmons.

Karen was a caring and fun loving person. She showed love and compassion towards the people she cared for and she adored animals.

She is survived by her sister Sandy Ambruso and husband Frank, and her brother Paul Simmons. She is also survived by her nephews; Daryl Ambruso, Marcus Ambruso, John Simmons and Matthew Simmons and sister-in-law Helen Simmons. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by two brothers Glenn Simmons and Rick Simmons.

Services for Karen will be private. Donations in Karen’s name are encouraged and may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at www.aspca.org/donate.
