A 15-year-old approached him and began to pick a fight, the driver told police. He advised the juvenile he shouldn't be picking fights with grown men.
The juvenile then swung his arm with a closed fist and punched the victim in the side of the head, police said. Two witnesses reported seeing the juvenile strike the driver, police said.
The juvenile accused of the assault said he and the other juvenile yelled "UPS sucks," at the driver and later saw him at the school, police said. He claimed the driver walked toward him and threatened to kill him, which is when he hit the driver, police said. He accused the driver of pulling out a knife.
One of the witnesses said he didn't see or hear the UPS driver make any threats. The other witness said he only saw the punch being thrown, but not what had transpired before.
The incident is still under investigation and charges could possibly be filed. The juvenile accused of the assault was released to his parents and the other juvenile was free to go.
